US troops roll into Poland
The 1st deployment of American troops rolled into Poland on Thursday in the largest deployment since the Cold War. The US is to provide a defensive umbrella for the Poles. Some Polish citizens waved and held up American flags as troops, tanks and vehicles crossed into southwestern Poland from Germany. The troops headed towards the town of Zagan, where they will be based. Poland’s prime minister and defense minister will welcome them in an official ceremony on Saturday. As part of NATO deployment, this is a deterrence against Russia.
Trump team clashes with CNN over intelligence report
In a fiery, 25-minute exchange with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Tump’s senior adviser Kellyanne Conway denied that intel chiefs presented Trump with info on Russian memo. “It’s not true, we don’t discuss the classified information that is discussed,” Conway said. “But you just said that it wasn’t true,” Cooper responded. “I guess what you still haven’t answered, though, is what is inaccurate in our reporting?” “You can’t answer this question,” Cooper said to Conway. “What is inaccurate about our reporting?”
Kellyanne Conway replied CNN’s Anderson Cooper:
“Sure I can. Here’s the answer: If the four intelligence officials that gave the top secret briefing last week that some fools think they should leak to the media when it’s a top secret intelligence briefing for a reason so that we’re all protected — everybody — then why, according to your own report last night — ‘report’ used as a loose word here — why do they not tell the president-elect about it? Because your own reporting says that there’s no confirmation that they briefed him orally.”
Dossier on Russian file with damaging material on Trump emerges
Details of classified documents allegedly presented to Donald Trump emerged in a report by CNN and memos given to the FBI. The memos claim the Russian secret services had a file on Trump of ‘kompromat’ – damaging material Kremlin could use to blackmail him.
Trump allegedly ordered prostitutes to commit degrading sex acts in the presidential suite of a Moscow hotel – because the Obamas stayed there. Dossier was reportedly drawn up by ex-British spy once stationed in Moscow – but its contents cannot be verified and include errors, Buzzfeed reported.
Russia denies blackmail material on Donald Trump
The Kremlin dismissed charges that it has damaging material about US President-elect Donald Trump. The Russian president’s aide said it was an attempt to harm relations. But as Elizabeth Palmer reports, Russia is known to collect embarrassing intel and use it against political or business figures. Kremlin denies ‘completely fake’ claims that it has a blackmail file on Trump as President-elect insists spy chiefs DIDN’T show him memo saying Russia has ‘footage of him watching prostitutes in Moscow hotel bed’ peeing sensually for Trump’s sexual pleasure.
Trump described the ‘Russian blackmail material’ as fake
US President-elect Donald Trump described the alleged Russian material as ‘fake’ and a ‘political witch hunt.’ The material was based on memos compiled by an ex-British intelligence agent considered ‘credible’ by the U.S. intelligence community, CNN reported. The document claims Russian sources told the agent that they had material on Trump including a secret film of him in the Ritz Carlton hotel suite where President Obama stayed in Moscow, watching prostitutes committing degrading sex acts on the bed where the president slept.
Putin’s spokesman denies alleged Trump blackmail
In a reaction to the Russian secret dossier on US President-elect Donald Trump, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin , dismissed the reports as a ‘complete fabrication and utter nonsense.’ What is believed to be the 35-page document itself was published by BuzzFeed an online US liberal blog, which pointed out that it contained errors. Little of its contents can be independently verified, while there has been no official confirmation of the details of the briefing. The 35-page document itself was published by BuzzFeed.
Kremlin ‘does not engage in collecting compromising material’ – Russia
US President-elect Donald Trump was “briefed” about an intel report that Russian President Vladimir Putin was in possession of incendiary material against him: ‘Trump procured prostitutes in degrading acts in bed used by president Barack Obama’ – unverified allegations that Trump ordered prostitutes to commit degrading sex acts in the Ritz-Carlton in Moscow, which are contained in a dossier drawn up by an ex-British spy. Kremlin ‘does not engage in collecting compromising material’ Putin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov said.
FBI & DOJ to be investigated over Clinton probe
The Justice Department’s internal watchdog announced Thursday it has launched a probe into FBI and Department of Justice’s handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server. The announcement, which was expected, comes after criticism of the Department’s handling of the investigation, how the public was notified about the controversy, which was a major issue on the 2016 campaign trail. It will likely mean questions over the role of FBI Director James Comey before voting which Democrats believe helped cost them the US presidency.
